About Us

PARONE DESIGN

Parone Design is an industrial ‘Art & Design’ company. We are located in the oldest part of Helsinki, Kruununhaka, in Finland. The company was established in 1998 as  JP-Design Studio. In August 2003 the name was changed to Parone Design, to stand out better among our competitors.

Since 1995 I have participated in a research and development project on harmful UV-radiation and methods protecting against it. In 2003 we finally got results and started marketing the new solar protection material. All around the world people have shown interest in the AUREOLA™ collection. Material has a world wide patent and it has a UPF factor of 238.

Chaîne des Rôtisseurs has named me as Chevalier in Helsinki on February 4, 2006. Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is an international organization cherishing gastronomy and fine dining. The organization was established in France 1248 and assisted by St Ludvig. My oath of Chevalier de Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is a warranty of quality for your festivities.

We serve private and corporate customers with confidence and high quality standards.
Creative and innovative design is carried out by cooperating skilled masters.

ECOLOGICAL ASPECTS AND CHARITY

All material we use is manufactured in certain controlled circumstances, like acid free paper, paints, colours, glues, fabrics, leather and recycled furs. Genuine fur and leather products are more ecological-friendly than plastic ones. Real leather and fur goods are long term products and will decompose naturally. Because of price and habits, artificial products are consumed quickly and this stresses our ecosystem. Our fur and leather products are made by genuine recycled materials or the materials are from food industry by-products.

Most of our products are manufactured in Finland and of course no child labor is used. For work- and holiday flights – as well as air transport of materials and products – we pay carbonic acid gas payment via https://climatefriendly.com. I also use local manufacturing whenever possible.

Papers, fabrics, colour pastes and other materials are recycled. We arrange that all suitable excess materials go to various kindergartens for children to use for play/education. Also suitable items for bedding and clothes are given to Russian street children. We purchase our sanitation chemicals from Amway which contributes 10% of the product price to UNICEF. Among other things we do is to organize and help various charity functions.

Our operations are very friendly for the environment and we attempt to minimize all kind of waste - this is the reason that all our products are packed as efficiently as possible. We use nature friendly electricity called Norppasähkö. Via this nature friendly electricity we support the endangered ringed seal’s (Pusa hispida) survival.

This is small contribution from me and my company – but I do like to serve as an additional model for other people and companies.

PARONE DESIGN IS RUN, CONTROLLED AND LED BY JANNE PYKÄLÄ

"As a child I tried my innovative talents even though the environment didn't always respect that: cutting out lion heads from ten pieces of FMK 100 notes (I got a nice zoo), cutting off colourful prints from curtains with the help of a fruit knife (beautiful lance effect edge) and 'shortened’ the invaluable national costume with paper scissors (cool streaking fabric for trousers, that I couldn't use).

My very first school day I told my teacher that I will be a fashion and interior designer some day. I was six years old. To prove these words I have a heap of my fashion and interior design drawings from childhood. After my senior secondary school I passed dress-, fur-, leather- and accessories makers examinations at trade school in Helsinki (Roihuvuori) after my Senior Secondary Art School. After short work and study periods in Germany and in France I completed advanced studies at the University of Commercial Arts (UIAH) in fashion and a few basic courses in Interior Design as my secondary subject. After graduating in 1998 I started this business as I had decided in senior secondary school to do so when I was in my thirties …
